Elevate your tablescape or display cabinet with this beautiful, curated set of five (5) antique fine porcelain plates by the esteemed German manufacturer Zeh, Scherzer & Co. (Z & Co.). Produced in the legendary Bavaria region, these pieces showcase the exquisite translucency and craftsmanship that directly competed with the finest Limoges factories of the turn of the century.

This collection includes two closely coordinating, romantic green floral transfer patterns sharing the exact same heavily embossed, scalloped blank with vibrant gold gilded rims. Mixing and matching delicate floral motifs on identical blanks was a favored Edwardian-era tradition, making this set perfect for a "shabby chic" aesthetic, a tea party setting, or an elegant wall display.

• Maker: Zeh, Scherzer & Co. (Bavaria, Germany)

• Markings: Features the red oval "Bavarian China / ZS & Co / Germany" export backstamp, dating this set to circa 1890s–1910s.

• Quantity: 5 plates total (2 of one pattern, 3 of the second pattern).

• Measurement: Approximately 7” diameter.

Condition Report:

Overall in very good antique condition with bright gilding and minimal surface wear. Kept beautifully for over a century, with the following minor exceptions noted for strict accuracy:

• Two (2) plates are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or visible wear.

• Two (2) plates feature a minute, superficial "flea bite" nick along the outer gold rim (pictured).

• One (1) plate shows mild, fine crazing that is strictly confined to the bottom/back of the plate; the front face remains completely smooth, clean, and unaffected for display.

Note on Antique Character & Authenticity:

As is typical with fine Bavarian porcelain from this era, these plates feature minor, original factory kiln traits. You will find a few tiny, microscopic pepper spots and minor glaze pinholes/pitting from the original firing process over a century ago. These are not flaws from use, but rather authentic hallmarks of antique manufacturing before the advent of modern electric kilns.
